Seems Labour plans to flip on the Video Surveillance Bill. Which means it'll pass.

They only want it for 6 months and they'd prefer it wasn't retrospective, but they are still a-ok with a warrantless video camera installation on private property.

I really don't know what to say.

At least Labour have made it clear that what was proposed was way too broad, and have asked for considerable tightening before supporting.

I'm not sure I can see National agreeing to the requested changes without losing considerable face, and that may be enough to scupper the bill. Here's hoping anyway...

Meantime, don't forget - get out and cast a vote against these wankers, or else!!!
