First is perkier today and moving around better - in fact when I went out just before, she bounced at me. This is much more like the dog I've known for 11 years, and I'm breathing a huge sigh of relief. I suspect that Polly might be right and she's slipped while running around and pulled something, and being old she doesn't recover as quickly as she used to.

Meanwhile, I had to mercy-kill a sheep this morning up at Horokiwi, and do it in stealth mode so the visiting grandchildren didn't have to witness it.

I'm kind of done with death now, can it leave me alone for a while?

Thank you to everyone who came yesterday. I am heartened and amazed at how much admiration was expressed for my Mum. The ironic part is that she had no clue that people thought she was so amazing, and felt herself somewhat ordinary. Things I wish she was still around to hear - the things I heard yesterday.
