Well, I'm glad you asked.
1. Stretching. I don't mean the stretching that runners do, and I don't mean trying to tie my legs in a knot behind my neck either. I mean the stretching you do while rolling around in/on your bed after you've just woken up. Sleep muscles are almost completely relaxed and stretching them in such a pleasant environment is bordering on orgasmic.
2. Fans! I had a bit of a practice with them yesterday. My aim is to be able to dance with them at Canaan Downs and not feel like a dork. My longer-term aim is to make myself a set of fire fans - maybe by Kiwiburn? But, having watched some fan dancing videos on YouTube and played with them a bit (i can open and close them aren't i doing well???), I can see it's a lot harder than folks who know what they're doing make it look.
Are there any fan dancers out there? Or anyone who knows any, who can perhaps point me to a good tutorial? Yes, I have a habit of getting enthusiastic about things that other people don't do, and thus have trouble finding people to teach me. ;-/
Yesterday I had one of those moments when two worlds collide in all the right ways. My client for yesterday is a farmer's daughter. This means she actually knows how to handle sheep. Her sheep, instead of having learned every trick in the book to avoid being tipped over, have learned that a) there's no point trying to avoid the inevitable and b) they are not going to die if they go off their feet. Consequently, tipping them over required no effort at all. Which is not only nice, it makes the job go faster and takes much less out of me.
And then while I was shearing her (normal sized, healthy and quiet) sheep, she started asking about dance parties. Turns out she's big into psytrance and works as a face/body painter. Can we say "Must get this woman to Kiwiburn"?? Why yes, yes we can. Her and her partner are oldschool ravers from Back In The Day, and they are SO invited to the next WDC party!
This week, Tommy is staying with Mum because of my work, but at least he's in town! And will be at firespinning tomorrow, because the weather is going to be awesome for him. Yes it is.
This weekend coming I thought we'd go to the Da Vinci Machines exhibition. I know there were a bunch of people who said they wanted to do this, but I can't remember who! So if you wanted to be in on this, would you mind commenting or emailing me and we'll try to sort something out? I was thinking of going for Sunday afternoon, but Saturday afternoon would work just as well if it suits more people.
[EDIT] I'm making a list of people who indicate interest, and when that's complete I'll email everyone on it to organise day/time.
Finally, the way to Tats heart? Buy your stuff by feel. *nods* hell yes..
Finally part 2 - Macaulay Culkin has a very strangely-shaped top lip. Party Monster is a very strange movie. Nuff said.
