It's a Lilypad slide switch. For those not familiar with NZ money, that's a 10c coin and it's about the same size as a US penny. Thus, that is a really small switch. It's probably the most challenging bit of soldering I've done since I learned to solder 5 minutes ago. That goopy looking stuff is the hot glue that'll protect the join when it's on Yorick.
Yep, the project's at that stage. There is a mess of hookup wire all over my craft table and solder fumes in the air. Mmm, solder fumes!
I have to say, it's nice to be able to open the window and have the fumes go away.
Also, we keep getting visited by a dog. Only Dr Wheel has seen it and I suspect it might be able to turn invisible, but last night I heard it. It barked at Dr Wheel as he got home, as if to say "What are you doing on my property?" And Dr Wheel told it "Well actually it's our house" and the dog disappeared into thin air. MYSTERY DOG IS MYSTERIOUS!
And now, the sugar snap peas are coming up too! Will I ever get over my gleeful gloating every time something pops up out of the soil? Probably not..
