oh

I like pain! /best tank girl voice

Last night I achieved (I am not going to say mastered here because mastery is something other than what I'm doing), in no particular order: foot locks, catcher's hang - and extricating myself from said hang - two kinds of climbs, sliding lowering thingy, and a couple of fancy things you can do when foot locked. These are all things I've been attempting but last night I got all of them without falling on my head. This is my third lesson and I am somewhat pleased with myself.

I am also surprised that I was surprised by the pain of foot locks. Fabric is soft, right? But not, apparently, when you twist it up, wrap it round a bony bit and then put all your weight on it.

This makes me happy. Almost all the news coming out of Christchurch lately has been earthquake-related and about how things aren't what they used to be. It's nice to see things like Te Puna O Waiwhetu continuing to provide something approximating normal. Although, dead robots?

I'm with the people who want to protect it. Protective feelings for inanimate objects, Tats? Yeah, dunno why. I'm sure the evodevos would have something to say about that, something that ultimately led to me having to make them a sammich. But men feel it too. Nyah.

Anyway, I would like to know, oh flist - what things have you not expected to hurt and then found out they did and gone *facepalm*? Please validate me that I'm not as thick as I currently feel by providing your own stories..
