Adding to the chorus

Last night, for the first time in my adult life, I trimmed my nails. I've started making a weekly habit of filing them to keep them smooth and generally giving them a looking-after, but to actually make them shorter, deliberately, is a momentous occasion for me. I haven't quite reached the point where I'm brave enough to cut them, but that day will come too. And then I applied some clear polish because that seems to take the brunt of day-to-day things that would otherwise make them chip. OMG NAILS! I have trepidation over what the impending shearing season will do to my careful nurturing..

This is still a novelty for me. I'll get over it eventually.

Two final comments:

1. There's been a huge outcry against this. They've made a few other FB/Twitter linking type changes, but the one mentioned above is the only one I see as a real security problem. The more voices that are added to the protest, the more likely an opt-out button will be provided so you can lock down your journal and prevent third parties from crossposting anything said on your journal. Go here if you'd like to add to the large number of voices going "Oi! No you don't!"

2. I hate to say this, but any crossposting of comments from my locked entries in the meantime will not be tolerated. If it happens and I discover it, unfriending will follow. Nothing personal, but when I talk about stuff and that little padlock appears, that means 'keep it to yourself, you see this because I trust you.'

That is all.
