fuckoff

Snorkel and flippers weather again

I got wet on the way to work this morning. Two hours later, I'm still shivering. My office is normally quite good for auto-temperature-regulation, but today it's completely failing. Luckily, I have the scarves I left here from last time it was cold. I'm wearing them like sweaters, and still shivering. WTF..

Anyway, it seems the word 'cougar' (and its insulting connotations) may be about to die the death it deserves. Kim Cattrall (of Sex And The City fame) has spoken out against it after being dropped from a magazine cover shoot for refusing to pose with a real cougar.

Apparently she finds the term insulting too. I'm glad to hear it's not just me - seems the producers of the show Cougar Town are considering changing the name as well. Trufax - I flat refuse to watch anything with that name and The Kid has taken on the same protest, and so have others, and the network has noticed.

Funny, when I was a kid I used to like cougars - you know, when it used to be the name of an animal, before it was used to label people and ridicule them? Now, I hear that word and I don't think of the cat that attacked Rocket in My Friend Flicka any more. Fuck society for ruining that for me.

Hey, I've stopped shivering. 2 1/2 hours. Gosh.

On Sunday I re-dug the washing line end post, because the concrete had cracked and it was leaning inwards. I put in a breastblock and rammed it up, and pombagira hung her towels. A few hours later it started raining and the towels got really heavy. The dirt in the hole is still soft even though it's rammed, but so far the post is holding. If it stays good, once the ground dries out it should stay solid indefinitely. If it falls over I'll have to redo it.

Please stop raining now.
this is the hook

I just realised I'm the only Wellington person on my flist to have posted today.

Is everyone else hibernating and I just didn't get the memo?

Or is LJ actually dead and I should give up?
