Nice things

For the first time ever, putting together a computer out of entirely new parts, and having it just work, straight out of the box. I'm really liking what I've seen so far of Windows 7 too. Last night I played Oblivion in Shiny Mode, and it ran without a hitch. Every.Blade.Of.Grass! Thank you rikan_feral for being Updatey Guy and passing on your out-of-date-but-still-flasher-than-anything-I'm-used-to leftover graphics card to me.

I don't know how many folks are suffering from post-KB immune system crash, but I think it's a few. I'm pretty sure I'm caught up on sleep, and been taking lots of vitamins, but I still feel a bit like there's a cap on my emotions and I'm not 100% healthwise. Clearly more spinach is in order.

Finally, 300 really is a manflesh showcase, isn't it? I've heard a lot about the gay subtext, but I have to be honest and say I don't see it. Although the Xerxes character was a bit effeminate, I saw no sign that the characters wanted to have sex with each other. I did see a lot of abs, and I do wonder if the budgie smugglers they were wearing are historically correct, or if it's artistic license since actually girding their loins may have been beyond the scope of the actors' contracts. But yeah, to me it was more an extravaganza for anyone who appreciates the male form than anything specifically gay.

But I'm contrary like that.
