And because my wardrobe isn't loud enough already...

Since I made the decision to go to AfrikaBurns, I've been without inspiration for costume ideas. I'd sort of figured I have a cupboard full of things I can wear, so there's no pressing need to recostume myself for this. But at the same time, some of my costumes have been to four burns, and I'm about ready to start bringing in some new things while phasing out the old. But.. no inspiration. Until, on Saturday, three of us made a pilgrimage to Spotlight Porirua to choose fabric for *classified* project number 2 (henceforth to be known as CP2). And that was all it took. They have some amazing things in there, and I got struck by the Big Swinging Rod Of Inspiration. Now I think I'll probably be sewing every spare minute between now and when we leave.

And then I spent the rest of the weekend sewing (at least, when I wasn't waving a broom around and eating sugar witch food).

What is it with women and containers? Whenever I see pretty boxes, I have to resist the urge to buy them, knowing that I don't actually have a use for them. I just WANT them, because you can put things in them and they're pretty. I seem to be not alone in this. Why?

And this week, the AfrikaBurns planning starts in earnest. Like, list making, tent-weighing, clothes-deciding.
