Yay for Kiwi ingenuity!

This is making me very happy today.

As some of you know, I've had a lot of trouble with my old Tecumseh petrol shearing plant. Not only has it been a problem to start, and a heavy, noisy, smelly thing to work with, but last season the drive cable snapped and stopped me completely for the rest of the season. Replacing it proved well nigh impossible, and I've had zero luck finding anyone who imports the right kind of cable to get one made.

Shearing season is approaching again, and I've been idly looking around with a view to getting a new machine - but I'm tired of lugging the heavy thing around, tired of the noise, and tired of trying to find replacement parts. Googling brought up the website above, and I emailed the guy.

In other news, they've decided to keep Mum for one more day. Everything for today now rolls over for tomorrow. Oh well. She's now well enough to be frustrated by this, so that's a good thing. And it does mean I get one more night at home to sort myself out, too.

(where values of 'sort myself out' include blobbing around doing nothing and fending off over affectionate dogs)
