Some TMI for your reading pleasure

Gosh. I have been at work for 20 minutes and we've had an evacuation already.

I am curious about these firemen. On the calendars, they are all hot, young and buff. I have yet to see such a fireman in real life. Where are all the hot firemen, I ask?

*cough* Anyway. I would like to apologise for the slightly whiney tone of this blog lately. I don't really enjoy reading whiney blogs, and I'm feeling a bit like I'm inflicting my whine on you.

I don't think there's anything I can say after all that.

[EDIT] Actually, yes there is. All you people who get back from Burning Man today, welcome to The Other Side!

Well gosh

I just had a phone call from an old friend of Dad's, from York. He had been trying to call Mum and not getting an answer, so he called us to make sure she's ok.

Don Gabettis is the guy Dad kicked around with through most of his 20s, 30s and 40s, and they remained friends even after Dad married a young upstart, procreated and moved half way round the world to New Zealand. He would phone Dad regularly for a chat.

As I type up Dad's life history from his writing, I come across Don a lot. He was the partner in crime for a lot of things Dad never told me about as a kid.

His voice and accent sound exactly like Dad. I kept him on the phone as long as I could, just to listen to it.

I am a softie.
