Normal is a cycle on a washing machine

I read this morning in Harper's Weekly that a plane carrying Edward Kennedy landed safely after being struck by lightning. Struck by lightning? Yup, Shona Laing was right, way back when. I really am glad I'm not a Kennedy.

Yesterday will probably go down in my history as one of the weirdest days I've ever experienced. Not weird like the night the cops turned up and dragged me out of bed so I could watch them search the house next door for stolen property (they thought I lived there too - buh?). Not weird like the morning I woke up and realised that my life's ambition had changed from being a farmer to How The Hell Would I Know. But weird like, how many emotions and new experiences can you fit into one day? How much stuff that you thought you'd never do/say/think? Yup, it was Let's Flip Tats World Upside Down Day.

Even more weird, despite the fact that I went to bed feeling like a chewed piece of string, it was actually mostly good stuff. Yeah, definitely mostly good.

Then there was an earthquake. Not a short, sharp, scary one, but a long, rolling one that rocked the house for a good 30 seconds.

Then there were dreams of Shelley. Not the poet Shelley but my ex-flatmate Shelley who I haven't seen or spoken to for years. I've 'seen her' (know how sometimes you see people on the street and you think "Is that ....? Yes? No? Nah, can't be." .. and it isn't, but it gets you thinking about them) around several times lately. I have no idea how to get in touch with her. Hmm..

And I found out what interfacing is. It's something I need and don't have. Heh.

Anyway, Collapse )
