The second goodbye

That one was a bit harder. It's tough to say goodbye to your best friend - a weird combination of happy for them and sad for yourself at the same time. I will miss him in a way I can't describe. It probably doesn't help that this is the first time I can remember that it's not me doing the leaving. But yeah, there will be a hole in my life for a while, I think.

Tonight, I plan to fill it with merriment and good people at Allyn's party. This morning was aikido in which I had a mind-blank in the middle of randori, much to my embarrassment in front of Russian Mike, and this afternoon was Donnie Darko, which is a lot easier to follow if you're not completely trashed.

I like this, not least because my Dad used to play it a lot when I was a kid, and instilled in me a deep love of swing. In my anachronistic moments, I think this time was when I was supposed to be born. I would also love to hear a scratched-up version of it. *grin*

Anyway, come party with me!
