However crappy you think you may be, you are not this crappy

This morning I was listening to the radio and a girl called in. She wanted the announcers to break up with her boyfriend of three years for her, on air. There is a song going around at the moment, a spoof of 'Respect' by Aretha Franklin - the main line goes something like "R.E.J.E.C.T. Find somewhere else to be. Loser, loser.. etc" She wanted them to call him and play him the song over the phone.

One of the announcers refused, the other said OK. A discussion ensued, but the guy went ahead and did it. The boyfriend's answerphone picked up, stated his name and said "Leave a message." So the announcer proceeded to tell the guy's answerphone that his now-ex girlfriend didn't want him around anymore, that he was ugly and she found him repulsive, and then he played the song.

That guy's gonna wake up to an answerphone message letting him know in a very callous way that he's dumped, and that a fairly large radio audience knows it, and who he is.

The announcer who didn't want to do it just said quietly, "You've gone too far this time, dude." Understatement of the year in my opinion.

The one who did it was Grant Kereama.

What kind of people would do that?

Meanwhile, intuition is a much nicer word than gut feeling.

Especially because gut feeling is two words.
