Greasies, Grog and Gargoyles

Well, not gargoyles actually but vampires, werewolves and Frankenstein.Yes, I went to see it, despite all warnings. But first, a new fish n chip place! This time it was the $7 fnc and beer deal at Zebo's. The beer was a large bottle of Tui so represented reasonable value (believe me, when it comes to beer I am no connoisseur). Anyway, here's the results:

Cost: $7.00 with a large bottle of beer
Fish: Crumbed, 2 small pieces, making up one normal piece. Nicely cooked
Chips: Soggy and a small serving
Comment: Very good value for the price but it was the beer that made it so. Pretty good for a quick pub meal. Oh, and it came with mayonnaise, tomato sauce, greenery and a slice of lemon.
Cooked in: Oil
Rating: 6.25 out of 10 (a compromise, see?)

Then, off to Van Helsing. Now, I have heard lots of negative stuff about this movie, but, I enjoyed it. I think this is because I went into it knowing it would be wall-to-wall cheese with fancy special effects and not much of anything else. So consequently I laughed my head off all the way through. Of course the beers beforehand probably helped too. I throughly recommend being slighty inebriated if you go to see this. And the vampire brides are just something else. They were cast according to cleavage I believe. I'm pretty sure the cheesiness is deliberate.. it has to be, surely. And I loved the line from the friar: "I'm not a hero, I'm just a genius with access to unstable chemicals." Best laugh I've had in ages. And, there's a split second of Hugh Jackman with his shirt off before he sprouts fur and fangs, so almost some perv value too.

Also, apparently my hair makes me look like a manga character. I guess that's what you get when your hairdresser is a tattooed 'blokey-bloke' who swills Steinlager whilst cutting your hair. No complaints here.

And best of all, the two people I care about who were suffering so badly, are now both on the improve. This is great news. Thanks to people for advice. Awesome.
