Global warming..

The solution?

Nuclear energy, on a global scale, immediately, according to James Lovelock.

"Opposition to nuclear energy is based on irrational fear fed by Hollywood-style fiction, the Green lobbies and the media."

Well, actually, my opposition to nuclear energy has more to do with things like Chernobyl, Hiroshima, and Three Mile Island.

I think that the Gaia theory could include the possibility that:

A) self-healing of the planet may occur only after we destroy ourselves by reaching critical mass (when there are more "people atoms" than the other atoms can support)

B) there have been ice ages followed by periods of global warming throughout the history of the planet, and we have less power to change this that we flatter ourselves with.
