Serendipity and swashbuckling

Today I had a serendipitous meeting with someone I haven't seen for a while that ended up in a hilarious brunch at Fidels (mmm .. meat), then managed to combine forces and thrash the Dymocks booksale (mmm .. books), then went to see The Last Samurai (mmm .. sword-swinging warriors)..

In review, well, -I- enjoyed it. My companion enjoyed it. There were huge vistas and scenery, there were epic battle scenes, there were poignant bits and funny bits. It had everything a good swashbuckle should have. And the Japanese actors were brilliant.

I recommend you ignore any reviews you've read (including this one), go see it, and decide for yourself.
