Tears were shed on both our parts last night when the news about Bowie broke. We watched a retrospective video collection that went from Space Oddity through to Lazarus, and it was sad and funny and nostalgic.

There are so many songs of his that have coloured my life, the man was making music before I was born and he was *so* prolific, and so very creative. But this is 'my' Bowie song, because it marks when I stopped listening to my parents music and started listening to my own.

This is the first celebrity death I've ever cried over. What an inspiring person.

This was probably the biggest music celebrity death since George Harrison. David Bowie will be missed.

I think you are in good company.
One of the DJ's on the radio station I listen to audibly broke down when reading stuff about his life today, and every song they played for the nearly two hours I listened was either him, a cover of one of his songs, or a song they felt was related to his work.
