Tactical Ninja - First day back at work

01:51 pm - First day back at work

Previous Entry Share Next Entry

And amazingly enough, Dr Wheel (who's been back at work since Monday) was unable to muster much sympathy this morning when I bemoaned the end of one of the best holiday breaks I've ever had.

It took me all morning to re-setup my desk after the move, and it'll probably take the next day and a half to work out what it is I'm supposed to be doing.

My old lunchbox (pictured below) was given to me by kimeros back in 2006 when I expressed an interest in eating healthy. It's done me good service all this time, but the lids to the compartments had finally crapped out and it was time for a new one.

Imagine my pleasure to discover the same model is still available. I've splashed out and moved away from my trademark pink, to a dashing green-and purple ensemble (also pictured below).

It comes with a little plastic bottle that would be perfect for a tipple of something not suitable for school lunches, but is almost completely useless for hydrating anything larger than a kitten. But still, nifty!

Yes this is the most exciting thing that's happened to me today. Well, that and applying for my Kiwiburn leave.

Did I mention Kiwiburn is only a couple of weeks away? Better be stocking up on those tiny wrapped soaps, then...

It seems a little silly to be so thrilled over a lunch box, but I am. ;-)

It is both practical AND has tidy compartments. What's not to love?

This is true. I somehow also need to refer to duvets, warm showers, fridges, and linen service. And possibly pheasant shooting.

I have the linen service, and warm showers come courtesy of a warm water bottle, in a pinch. ;)

I like lunchboxes with compartments, so much better! We just bought Caspian one last Sunday. It has three compartments that can telescope out, and a cute matching fork/spoon! He got it in fuchsia. Very fancy.

It was this one, but luckily we bought his at the bargain grocery place, so it was $8. I guess it was a good deal.

I don't think I've ever seen a lunch box with compartments in Germany. Help - I live in an underdevelopped country!!!

I checked the website and unfortunately they don't do online sales. Silly. But they do have outlets in lots of places that you're likely to visit sometimes soon, if you really wanted one. Otherwise I could grab you one and mail it?

Wait, Tesco sells them online! One thing, though - you can't fit a whole apple in the one I have because the bottom compartment is only an inch or so high. I cut mine up.

Thanks for the offer - as I eat at our canteen I hardly ever need one, though. :D

A fine choice of lunch box - that particular variety is very popular amongst the preschool community of New Zealand :)

Thanks!

I've decided to go with the low-effort effort this time round, and not bother with anything that requires upkeep or care. Because I'm working on my slacking...
