OK so I just made a comment with the word 'realise' in it. I don't have my LJ set to auto spellcheck, and I have my language set to UK English. My PC is also set to NZ English.

Why are little red wavy lines suddenly appearing under words like realise, behaviour, colour, and apologise? Basically, LJ is telling me that non-US spelling is wrong.

MAKE IT STOP!

LJ is confused like that.

On my user info page, LJ has been telling me that I live a town over from where I really live for the whole time I've kept an LJ profile, about 10 years now. Every time I've tried to fix it, it auto-corrects back to what you see.

Oh, a lady after my own heart!

The more this happens, the more I want to revert to the most English English I know! :))

As I believe you NZ folks say: Wankers.

Being an American, I'd just say: Morons.

It drives me insane too! I have to say, Word on my work computer does that too, even though I've set it to UK English. I DEMAND MY RIGHT TO CHOOSE MY OWN ENGLISH SPELLING BACK.

I think I've gotten used to ignoring it since it happens so often although sometimes an American spelling surprises me.

Just a little thought, Tats, is your browser set to UK English only?

Like Firefox seems to want to have it both ways at once on some of my systems...

I was about to say "And Firefox doesn't seem to make it easy to change" when I noticed that a right click on realise offers the option to add dictionaries which led me to this page which should help...

I totally had to add a Canadian dictionary to Firefox because of those kind of shenanigans
